OV1 - Workshop Formats

This Workshop includes a complete set of data for 5 consecutive race days, and allows for three different Workshop formats :

  1. Fully supervised Workshop, entering and processing all data included.
This can be done over one full day or over two afternoon or evening sessions

  2. Short supervised Workshop plus additional practcie at home.
The supervised workshop could be conducted over about 2 hours, using the Data for Race Day 1 only (perhaps minus the Minnows data).

  3. Individual practice at Home, entering and processing all data included over a period of time.
Whichever format you use, please feel free to contact me by email anytime with questions or comments.

OV2 - Phase 1 : Sequence of tasks

The following sequence of tasks is recommended for the Workshop.

  1. Chapter 1 - Where applicable : Entering Club Name and Registration code

  2. Chapter 2 - Setting Up a New Database

  3. Chapter 3 - Setting Up a Finish Time Entry facility (FTE 1)

  4. Chapter 5 - Setting Up one or more Parent Handicap Series (PHC)

  5. Chapter 7 - Setting Up a New Race in one or more of the Parent Handicap Series (PHC)

  6. Chapter 8 - Entering New Competitors in a Race, Series and Database
and creating new Yardsticks when prompted to do so (Chapter 18)

  7. Chapter 9 - Entering Finish Times either into the FTE 1, or directly into the PHC Series Race

  8. Chapter 10 - Processing a Race and Viewing its Results

  9. Chapter 12 - Keeping a Logbook of PHC Series Race details

The Input Data for Division Group 1011 (the Minnows) consists of 5 consecutive Pointscore Races, which can be entered separately race by race without the need of the FTE 1. This is perhaps a good way to start for those who are absolutely new to Top Yacht.
